Introduction for chosen designs
My chosen designers are Chenchow Little Architects, the style of their design is minimalist. The practice has focused on contemporary residential work. Two of chosen designs are Freshwater house and Szirtes house. From their designs, I found the that they always make a balance between space and construction, light and shade, material and cost, plant and furniture, even black and white. Those good balances make clients a harmonious sense for the whole building. Moreover, vertical and horizontal strips are significant and unique elements for their designs. For example, for the freshwater house, the shutters are constructed of vertical battens to maintain views to the beach below. The shutters provide privacy, enclosure and dappled light to this level. The detailing of the shutters is purposefully simple such that the building reads as an abstract sculptural form in the landscape when viewed from the beach. When the shutters are open the appearance of the building, and the experience of the interior, transforms.

                                                          Creatures

Reddy, carnivores, perching at somewhere around the sand beach in tropical zone, is used to forage little sea creatures as their preferred food during nightfall. They are extremely feral with fins on head and a long neck connecting body; need their red skin to camouflage themselves as the color of sand under the setting sun. There are six limbs which can be divided into two parts, the two in the front are used for catching food with the sharp nail while the rest four usually for chase and swim. A toxic tail as a weapon can jet venom as well.

Anggie, the world largest herbivore, hunting herbs which make up most of its diet, is native largely within the Tibet Plateau encompassing the Himalaya Mountains. They have evolved to occupy a narrower ecological niche, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, high altitude for moving across snow, ice, and open water. They could be survived by camouflage as the gray outward appearance. Four strong limbs could strengthen their skip capability in order to transfer easily from mountain to mountain and also wings on its back to control the air flow during the jumps.

Good Layouts

Jason Santa Maria has taken a truly different route with his site layout. Each article is laid out differently, with strong focus on typography and visual clarity.
Axel Peemoeller Design On this page all design elements are draggable and some of them are clickable. Images seems to be thrown on you in the first moment, but in the end they all make sense. This is an unusual portfolio which is memorable and interesting to explore.
Rockatee uses asymmetry to position content blocks in an unusual yet appealing style. Notice that the left block perfectly aligns with the navigation option “Home” at the top of the page. The screenshot in the middle of the page spans exactly two navigation options and has the same width as the description block on the right side of the page. The distortion in the layout is caused by the underlying organic texture. Although the design is perfectly aligned according to the grid, it seems to be chaotic at first glance. The tension between order and chaos creates tension in the layout and looks very appealing.
For its gallery section SpaceCollective uses a five-column grid. Text and images are perfectly placed on the grid giving the layout a complete form and a sense of order. Notice various font sizes and text styling in the design — they introduce a profound visual hierarchy into the layout that works perfectly within the complex, unpredictable layout.

Review

At this stage, I’ve developed my creatures and environment which includes exterior and interior. When I was doing these works, all the ideas were based on my previous chosen designers and architecture. My chosen designers were Chenchow Little Architect. Chenchow Little is an architectural practice based in Sydney, Australia, since 1994. The practice has worked on a wide variety of projects including residential, retail and commercial. More recently the practice has focused on contemporary residential work. As a result, my interior environments which were made in 3ds Max were based on their residential works.

Before I input my work input the computer, the fundamental thing was doing the SKETCH and I think sketch on the paper is crucial step for design work. Therefore, I did many sketches for my models and environments and these sketches brought me any inspirations and ideas, and this leading a guide to my input work. Meanwhile, the input work is not simple as sketching, there would meet many difficulties and problems during the work, for instance, a big problem I met was that I couldn’t put my environment model into AR, when I was doing that, AR just show the grid of 3ds Max but my model was disappear. This is the problem I should figure it out in later work.

My exterior environment model took me long time to develop as well as I enjoy the result very much so all hard works become worthy. The themes of environment are mysterious and nature. The inspirations come from my chosen designers and designer’s work and my paper model. Firstly, I did lots of research for my chosen designers, Chenchow Little Architect, I tried to find out the background of their architecture and this gives me inspirations to develop my own design. Secondly, I wrote down ten key words which are related to my selected buildings for each one and my developed environment models were based on these words. Thirdly, I did sketches using imagine as possible as I can. After that, I input my works and make the developed model in 3ds Max. Finally, medication and refining are important to my design and I often look back of research I have done before to connect with the designers ideas and to develop and reinforce my ideas.

I have improved my skill in design work and computing application during doing those series of works. I kept updated my blog to show a sequence of my works and these make a good foundation for my completing design.
